Abandoned and Betrayed - A Problem with Authority

I have been thinking of writing this down for a long time. Now, after hearing from different individuals about recent events, let me connect a few dots.
There is such a thing as collective karma; a lesson or fate, if you will, that affects a generation of those born in a certain era. Here is what my research revealed. Stick with me for a few minutes.
Chiron (named after the centaur known as the "Wounded Healer") is an asteroid or dead comet caught in the gravitational pull of the Sun. This little planet is a maverick trapped within our solar system. It may sound irrelevant, but it has effects that I have noted over more than two decades to be real (but temporary). See if this sounds familiar to you.

Chiron in Capricorn often involves important experiences of disappointment in one’s reliance on authority, whether parental, social or political. The family background may reflect rigid rules of behavior or an overly simplistic interpretation of social position, and for any person born with Chiron in Capricorn there may be a painful awareness of how little real authority there is in the world. Profound understanding may be gained through recognizing the importance of self-reliance and personal authenticity, and depending less upon collective role models for a sense of worth. Chiron in the Element of Earth reflects a sense of life’s unfairness through material frustration and feelings of limitation or inhibition in physical life.

If you were born during any of the following periods you have this aspect in your chart -- and its effects in your life.

Not only is there an experience of abandonment and betrayal - of promises made and not kept - but often there is even attack, harassment and abuse connected in some cases. For anyone engaged in the science of bhakti yoga, the wheel of birth and death (samsara) is slowly spinning as it comes to an end. The Best Friend of the universe, Lord Krishna assures us there is light at the end of the tunnel (BG 13.24)

"One who understands this philosophy concerning material nature, the living entity and the interaction of the modes of nature is sure to attain liberation. He will not take birth here again, regardless of his present position.”
